What do you do if it rains?

We still have class outside! We have class outside everyday, no matter what the weather. As long as they are dressed appropriately, kids love being out in the rain and splashing in puddles. We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, but there are poor clothing choices. When you enroll your child, we will suggest specific clothing to keep your child warm and dry.

What do you do in extreme weather?

Nature Together follows the Mukilteo School District lead. You can find out whether the Mukilteo School District has cancelled classes by checking their website (mukilteo.wednet.edu). If Mukilteo schools are cancelled due to extreme weather, Nature Together is also cancelled. In the case of high wind advisories, Nature Together will not be heading into the forest. Class will be held primarily at the shelter and in the open field next to the community garden.

What do you do if my child has to use the bathroom?

Either Miss Kris or the assistant teacher will walk your child out of the forest to the portable toilet near the community garden. Encourage your child to use the bathroom at home before class begins.

What if my child is sick?

We are fine with children coming to school with sniffles, sneezes, coughs or stuffy nose, since we are outdoors and there is less chance to pass germs than in an indoor setting. We do not allow children to attend if they have had a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting within the previous 24 hours.

Where are your classes located?

Our parent-child classes are located at 92nd St Park in the grassy area near the ponds and by the lower playgrounds. We use the surrounding woods and gulch trail.

Our preschool program is located at the community garden shelter (4407 76th St SW, Mukilteo, WA 98275) at Japanese Gulch south trail head. We will use the garden shelter and the surrounding woods of the gulch.

Why can’t I register for a full school year?

We work in conjunction with the city of Mukilteo and their park programming follows seasonal registration. Since we use the city parks and are advertised in the community guide we also follow seasonal registration.

What if I need to withdraw my child from class?

Nature Together depends on tuition to operate, but we understand that unforeseen events can occur and withdrawal may be required. If you choose to withdraw your child from our program, we require that you give us a two week written notice to allow possible tuition refunds and also to open enrollment to others.

If you choose to withdraw before the beginning of a school session then a full refund will be issued minus the processing fees. If you choose to withdraw during the school session then the refund will be prorated minus the processing fee.
