Why I started Nature Together
I know how hard it can be to unplug from your busy life. As a mother of 3, I often have a full schedule and shuffle our children to practices, appointments and play dates. I’m usually relying on my phone and computer to keep our family organized and on task. This can wreak havoc on my mental state and energy level. I see it in my children too. We recharge by spending quality, uninterrupted time in the woods. When we are outside, we are completely present, calm and joyful.
My goal with Nature Together is to get everyone, especially young children, outside exploring and feeling that sense of peace that comes with surrounding yourself in nature. This is why I teach all of my programs outside. Our programs began in 2017 with parent-child classes in 92nd St Park. I wanted to share my ideas with other families who appreciated the value of spending quality time outdoors with their children. I met amazing people through these classes, and the program became popular. In fall of 2018 I was able to start a drop-off preschool program at the Japanese Gulch. The preschool continues to grow and we continue to meet incredible families from the area.
Retail Shop and Our Team
In addition to our education programs we also have a retail shop in the Old Town Mukilteo area. The retail shop is a long-time dream of mine. I knew that bringing nature-inspired gifts into my home brought me joy, and I wanted others to feel that too. Now our shop provides families with unique and high-quality books, nature guides, outdoor gear, toys, clothing, home goods and more.
I have the most incredible team that have helped make Nature Together what it is today. Each of them bring their own unique sets of talent to our mission and I’m so proud of what we have created.
